Jon Cleary is an English-American singer, musician, and songwriter who performs soul and funk music. He was born in Cranbrook, Kent, England, on August 11, 1962. Jon began his music career in 1980, and he released his debut studio project Alligator Lips & Dirty Rice in 1994. He eventually formed the musical act Jon Cleary & The Absolute Monster Gentlemen with Derwin Perkins, and A.J. Hall. His discography includes the hit singles When You Get Back, Got To Be More Careful, So Damn Good, 21st Century Gypsy Singing Lover Men, and the albums Pin Your Spin, GoGo Juice, and Dyna-mite. Jon’s music was featured on the album Basin Street Records Presents: A Musical Celebration of New Orleans which also featured Kermit Ruffins, Irvin Mayfield, and Dr. Michael White. For his studio project GoGo Juice, Jon won a Grammy Award for Best Regional Roots Music Album.
