Terry Bozzio Bio
Terry John Bozzio is a prominent American drummer, percussionist, composer, and music producer who is best known for his time as a drummer in the bands Missing Persons and Frank Zappa. He was born in San Francisco, California, United States, on December 27, 1950.
Terry began his career in the late 1960s, playing with a variety of local bands before joining Frank Zappa's band in the late 1970s. He played with Zappa on several albums, including the highly acclaimed Joe's Garage. His reputation as an exceptional drummer grew in the 1980s, when he co-founded the new wave band Missing Persons with his then-wife, Dale Bozzio. The band became known for their hit singles Words and Destination Unknown and Bozzio's inventive drumming style, which utilized an enormous drum kit.
In addition to his work with Zappa and Missing Persons, Bozzio has also collaborated with a wide range of artists, including Jeff Beck, Steve Vai, and Tony Levin. He has released several solo albums, showcasing his virtuosic drumming and unique compositional style.
