Sudan Archives Bio

Sudan Archives, born as Brittney Denise Parks, is an American singer and self-taught violinist born in Cincinnati, Ohio. Currently based in LA and signed with Stones Throw Records, who released her first self titled 2017 EP, ‘Sudan Archives’, with her most popular track, ‘Come Meh Way’ with 3 million plays on Spotify. She is highly praised for her extreme talent as both the violinist and vocals on her track. Sudan released another EP, ‘Sink’, in 2018, which also included her single, ‘Nont for Sale’, her most popular song to date with 5 million plays on Spotify. In 2019, the 26 year old electric soul and West African folk singer was featured on The New York Times for her newest album release in 2019, ‘Athena’, describing Sudan to be boundary-defying, violin-driven music… a soundtrack of the making of a goddess. She has also been featured on Vogue and NPR for her soulful and sincere sound. Sudan was chosen to be a part of the The Sled Island Music and Arts Festival line-up in Calgary, Alberta this 2020.
