Snow Patrol is a rock band formed in Dundee Scotland in 1994. The current members of the band are Gary Lightbody on lead vocals, Nathan Connolly on guitar, Paul Wilson on bass guitar, Johnny McDaid on keyboards, and Jonny Quinn on drums and percussion. The band was started in 1994 at the University of Dundee by Gary Lightbody, Michael Morrison, and Mark McClelland. The band was initially named Polarbear and they released their debut EP titled Starfighter Pilot. They changed their changed their name to Snow Patrol in 1997 and released their debut studio album Songs For Polarbears in 1998. They have since released the albums When It’s All Over We Still Have to Clear Up, Final Straw, Eyes Open, A Hundred Million Suns, Fallen Empires, and Wildness. The band has released 7 studio albums, 8 EPs, 2 compilation albums, and 1 video album. They have sold over ten million albums worldwide. The band has been nominated for a number of awards and have won seven Meteor Music Awards, five IFPI Platinum Europe Awards, seven BMI Awards and more.
