Ghost Bio

Ghost is a Swedish hard and psychedelic rock band from Linköping. The band formed in 2008 and began playing in the underground music scene, gaining a local metal following. Band members consist of lead vocalist Tobias Forge, who is also know as Papa Emeritus along with various musicians acting as a tour/performance band. Forge, along with his band members, issued a their debuted album ‘Opus Eponymous’ on Rise Above Ltd. The album helped the spread of Ghost’s reputation around Europe and eventually, gaining popularity in the U.S. The band’s hard rock sound mixed with funk bassline led to the band’s international demand. In 2015, Ghost toured the U.S. under the moniker Ghost B.C. to differentiate themselves from other Ghost bands until 2015, where they fully adopted Ghost. After touring, the band waited to yours to release their sophomore album, ‘Infestissumam’ in 2013. In support of the album, the band made festival appearances at Lollapalooza, Coachella and Rock on the Range. Their third album, ‘Meliora’ was released in 2017 along with single, ‘Cirice’, which won the band their first Grammy award for Best Metal Performance. That same year, Forge began to perform under a new identity Cardinal Copia who became the face of their fourth release, ‘Prequelle’. Upon it’s release, the album debuted at the Top 3 on the Billboard 200, making their fourth album their highest charting release to date. Ghost’s latest body of work, ‘Seven Inches of Satanic Panic’ was released in 2019 with a more retro-rock sound on singles such as ‘Mary on a Cross’ and ‘Kiss the Go-Goat’.
