Walk Off The Earth Bio
Walk off the Earth is a Canadian alternative rock band formed in Toronto in 2006 by Ryan Marshall, Gianni Luminati, Mike Taylor, Joel Cassady, and Sarah Blackwood. After releasing two independent albums in 2007 and 2010, the band became a YouTube hit in 2012, with their cover of Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used To Know” achieving 70 million views in two months. In 2013 the band cemented their ascent to fame with the release of the LP R.E.V.O., a chart-topper and gold-certified album nominated for a canadian Juno Award. The group went on touring the U.S. and Europe, and then released an EP titled A Walk Off The Earth Christmas in 2014. In 2016 this album was awarded the Juno Award for Group of the Year.
