Miranda Richardson is an English actress, born March 3, 1958, in Southport, Lancashire, England, United Kingdom. Richardson is regarded as one of the most reputable actresses of her time. She won many world-class acting awards for her various and highly praised roles. Richardson's most notable awards include a Toronto Film Critics Association Award for Best Supporting Actress (2003), a Golden Globe (1995) for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series, Miniseries or Motion Picture Made for Television, a BAFTA Film Awards (1993) for Best Actress in a Supporting Role, and a New York Film Critics Circle Award (1992) for Best Supporting Actress. Richardson's resume also includes two Academy Award nominations for her roles in Damage (1992), as well as Tom & Viv (1994).
