Mark Foster is an American singer, songwriter, musician best known as the frontman of the indie-pop band Foster the People. He was born in Milpitas, California, United States, on February 29, 1984. Mark began his music career in 2007 with the release of his debut album Sorry Little Lucy, but he became famous in 2009 when he formed the band Poster the People with Jacob Fink and Mark Pontius. As a member of the band, he released the hit singles Pumped Up Kicks, Sit Next to Me, Houdini, and Call It What You Want. He also won a Billboard Award for Top Rock Song, a WEQX Award for Song of the Year, a SharkOne Award for New Artist of the Year, and two MVPA Awards for Best Director of a Band and Best Computer Effects.
