Kelly MacDonald Bio

Kelly MacDonald is an actress born on 23rd February 1976 in Glasgow, Scotland. She is widely recognized for playing prominent roles in films like “Intermission,” “Nanny McPhee,” “Gosford Park,” and “Trainspotting.” She made her acting debut in the 1996 film “Trainspotting,” which earned her a nomination for the BAFTA Scotland Award in the category of Best Film Actress. In 1997, she appeared in the television film “Flowers of the Forest” as Amy Ogilvie.

In 1999, she featured in support roles in the films “Splendor,” “The Loss of Sexual Innocence,” “Tube Tales,” and “My Life So Far.” In 2003, she appeared in the television film “Brush with Fate” as Aletta Pieters. From 2010 to 2014, she featured in 45 episodes of the television series “Boardwalk Empire” as Margaret Thompson. She went on to appear in “Hated in the Nation” in 2016, “T2 Trainspotting” in 2017, and “Ralph Breaks the Internet” in 2018.
