John Tesh Bio

John Tesh is an American New Age composer, multi-instrumentalist, and former TV host born in 1952 in Long Island, New York. After attending North Carolina State University, he worked in many daytime TV shows, eventually taking on the host position with a CBS New York program. While working as a sports commentator at the station, Tesh also wrote themes for the coverage of 1981’s Tour de France and Pan American Games, which were later prized with two Emmy awards. From 1986 to 1996 he co-hosted “Entertainment Tonight” with Mary Hart, and in 1988 he issued “Tour de France”, his full-length debut. In 1991 he once again received an Emmy Award for his sports music themes, and in 1992 he issued the hit album “Romantic Christmas” through his newly-created label GTSP. The musician kept on making waves as a musician with “Monterey Nights” (1993) and “Sax By The Fire” (1994) marking the first two of a series of yearly releases up until 2001. He has also made collaborations with New Age superstar Yanni.
