Aaron Rodgers is an American football player born in Chico, California on December 2, 1983. He currently plays as a quarterback for the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League. He started playing football from a young age and played as a quarterback for his high school team at Pleasant Valley High School where he set several single-game records. He was recruited to play football at Butte Community College in Oroville, California. In 2003 he transferred to the University of California, Berkeley and played for the California Golden Bears. In 2005 he was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the first round of the 2005 NFL Draft, 24th overall. He was selected to be the future replacement of the team’s quarterback Brett Favre and was his back up for the first three years of his career in the NFL. In 2008 he became the Packers’ starting quarterback and in 2010 led the team to victory in Super Bowl XLV over the Pittsburgh Steelers making him the Super Bowl MVP. He has signed several contract extensions with the Green Bay Packers and continues to play with them to this day.
