Aimee Garcia, full name Aimee Sandimés Garcia López de Ordóñez, is an actress born on November 28, 1978 in Chicago, although her family roots tie her back to Mexico and Puerto Rico. Throughout her childhood, Aimee has always been close to the theatre, as her debut was in ‘‘Cinderella’’ at The Auditorium Theatre. By the time she was twelve years old, she was professionally cast in ‘‘The Nutcracker’’.
While making a name for herself as an actress, Aimee also made time for education - she graduated at Northwestern University with three majors: journalism, economics, and French. During her first year off after graduating, she took a break from acting to do finance work after which she moved to Los Angeles to start a career in film and television.
Aimee portrayed different roles in various sitcoms and films, such as ‘‘Greetings from Tucson’’, ‘‘All About the Andersons’’, and in 2006, she landed the role of Veronica Perez in the sitcom ‘‘George Lopez’’. The year 2007 brought her ALMA Awards and Imagen Awards nominations. She starred in ‘‘Major Movie Star’’ comedy in 2008, and started appearing on ‘‘Dexter’’ during the last three seasons, which brought her a SAG Award nomination, and ALMA Awards win for Special Achievement in Television.
