AJ Agazarm is a professional mixed martial arts fighter, born on July 26, 1978, in Florida, United States. He gained recognition for his abilities in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, receiving his black belt in 2013. He is also known for his fast-paced games, take-down abilities, and scrambling. While growing up AJ competed in a wide variety of sports and became acquainted with wrestling in his teens through a friend.
During his high school years, he won many championships which earned him a scholarship to an NAIA school in Williamsburg, KY. Agazarm’s father asked him to start training Jiu-Jitsu, and in 2006 took him to the neighboring Gracie Barra School led by Eduardo de Lima. During that time Agazarm met Master Carlos Gracie Jr. In 2007 he started training at a Relson Gracie’s Academy affiliate led by Robin Giesler. He continued to train and win championships, winning the Brazilian National No-Gi Championship, becoming the first foreigner to achieve the title.
