Alex Bregman Bio

Alexander David Bregman, whose nickname is A-Breg, is an American baseball third baseman and shortstop who was born on March 30, 1994, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He went to high school at Albuquerque Academy, and in 2010, he became the first high school player to win an award as the USA Baseball Player of the Year. He attended college at Louisiana State University and joined the college team and majored in sports administration. He also played shortstop for the university team, LSU Tigers, where he won awards and recognition. His professional career started in the minor leagues when he signed with the Houston Astros. Bregman debuted with the Quad Cities River Bandits. He was later promoted to the Lancaster JetHawks. In 2016, he played for the Corpus Christi Hooks and the Fresno Grizzlies. In that same year, USA Today named Bregman the Minor League Player of the Year. On July 25, 2016, the Astros bought his contract with the Grizzlies and started playing on their team’s Major Leagues, where he plays as a third base.
