Aluna Bio
Aluna Francis is the singer and songwriter of the band AlunaGeorge. The duo includes producer George Reid. She was born in Wales in July 1988. Before starting a career as a musician, Aluna was a reflexologist. She started her career as a singer for the music group, ‘My Toys Like Me’. In 2009, the electro-pop band Aluna George was formed with a remixed version of the song ‘Sweetheart,’ by My Toys Like Me. The first commercial single of the band, ‘Your Drums, Your Love’ debuted at the 50th position on the UK Singles Chart. The debut album, ‘Body Music’ was released in 2013. The due also got shortlisted for the Critics’ Choice Award at the 2013 BRIT Awards and received a Sound of 2013 nomination, where they emerged as the runners-up. Aluna appeared as one of the panellists on the popular music game show, ‘Nevermind the Buzzcocks,’ on the BBC Network. In 2020, she released her solo album, ‘Rennaisance.’
