Annie Thorisdottir Bio

Annie Thorisdottir is a professional CrossFit athlete born in Reykjavíc, Iceland on September 18, 1989. Annie is the first woman to win the CrossFit Games twice. She trains four hours a day, six days a week and had prior experience in gymnastics, dancing, and pole vaulting. She became known in the CrossFit community in 2009 when she competed for her first time in the third annual CrossFit Games and came in 11th. She came back for the 2010 competition and came in 2nd place in the competition. 2011 was her year, she won every stage of the CrossFit Games and came out on top coming in 1st place. In 2012 she won won 1st place for the second time, making her the first woman to win the games twice. In 2013 she was unable to compete due to a back injury. She came back in 2014 after recovering from her injury and managed to come in 2nd. She has continued competing in the games and took 38th place in 2015 due to a heat stroke, 13th in 2016, 3rd in 2017 and 5th in 2018.
