Ava Duvernay is a writer, producer, and director best known for being the brain behind the television series, Queen Sugar. Ava was born on August 24th, 1972 in Long Beach, California. In addition to writing This Is The life, and Middle of Nowhere, Ava has also produced the films My Mic Sounds Nice: The Truth About Women In Hip-Hop, and Selma. She is featured as the director of the 2018 film adaption of A Wrinkle In Time, which is based off a Newberry Award winning young adult’s book.
