Bag Raiders are an electronic music group founded in 2006 in Sydney Australia. The group’s members consist of Jack Glass and Chris Stacey. Both Jack and Chris are classically trained musicians. The duo met in the orchestra practice room during school and reconnected in 2005 to being producing mixes of 1970’s rock and hip-hop. The Bag Raiders cite Earth, Wind, and Fire, The Brothers Johnson, 808 State and Orbital as their musical influences.
The duo released a number of EPs since hooking up in 2006. Their first EP called The Bag Raiders EP was released in June 2007 on the label Bang Gang 12 Inches. The next month they released their Fun Punch EP. In November of 2009 Bag Raiders released the Big Fun EP on Fool’s Gold Records. Prior to the release of a full length studio album, the duo released the Checkmate EP on Universal music in 2016.
Bag Raiders released their first studio album, called Bag Raiders, in 2010. The album charted in at number 7 on the ARIA Albums chart. The single “Shooting Stars charted in at number 18 on the Triple J Hottest 100 of 2009 chart. In 2010 the single “Way Back Home” charted in at number 46 and peaked at number 19.
