Beverly Johnson Bio

Beverly Johnson is an actress and model born on 13th October 1952 in New York, United States. She is widely known for being the second African-American to be featured on the cover of Vogue magazine in August 1974. The following year, she became the first black woman to be featured on the cover of the worldwide women’s magazine, Elle. Johnson started her acting career in 1975 with the film “Dead Hero”. In 1977, she played the role of a receptionist in the film “The Baron”. She went on to appear in other films in supporting and leading roles.

Johnson made her television debut in 1990, playing Allistar Lang in an episode of the crime drama series “Hunter”. From 1992 to 1993, she played Marcela Di Portago in two episodes of the police procedural drama series “Law & Order”. Her other notable appearances include “The Mommies” in 1994, “The Wayans Bros” in 1995, “3rd Rock from the Sun” in 1998, and others.
