Bongzilla Bio

Bongzilla is an American stoner metal band formed in 1995 in Madison, Wisconsin. It consists of Magma, Spanky, and Muleboy. In the late 1990s, the band released various demos and split albums before signing with Relapse Records. Their first issue on this label was the EP “Methods For Attaining Extreme Altitudes”, which came with live supporting performances at the Milwaukee Metalfest. Their full-length debut “Stash” went out in 1999 and met positive reviews, followed by “Apogee” in 2001. In 2002 the full-length “Gateway” came out, and the band toured the U.S., eventually recruiting bassist “Dixie” Dave Collins. After a long hiatus following 2005's “Amerijuanican”, the band reunited in 2015 and maintained a busy touring schedule between Europe and the United States in the following years.
