Bonnie Raitt Bio

Bonnie Raitt is a 9 times Grammy-winning singer-songwriter, born on 8 November, 1949, in California, United States. Born into a family with an affinity for music and her father John Raitt being a Broadway star, she always had a knack for creativity. She picked up the guitar as a 12-year-old and there was no looking back ever since. Nursing a passion for singing and songwriting, she opted to drop out of Radcliffe to pursue her craft. She was noticed by Warner Bros while she was playing at the Boston folk and blues club circuit. In 1971, her debut album was released, but it wasn’t until her tenth album “Nick of Time” that she got her breakthrough in 1989. Bonnie Raitt earned her first three Grammy Awards for it as well. She has released 19 Albums so far and won numerous accolades along the way.
