Brenda Lee Bio
Brenda Lee is an American vocalist and performer born in Atlanta, Georgia on December 11, 1944. She is a top-charting solo female vocalist and had 47 US chart hits in the 60s. She is best known for the hits “I’m Sorry” and “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree.” She started singing at the age of five and at seven years old appeared on the Atlanta radio show Starmakers Revue after winning a local singing contest at six years old. At 10 years old she became the primary breadwinner of her home singing at events and on local television shows and radio. She released her debut album in 1959 at the age of 15 titled Grandma, What Great Songs You Sang! and continued releasing albums like Brenda Lee, Emotions, All the Way, All Alone Am I, Too Many Rivers, Bye Bye Blues, Coming On Strong, and others. Over the course of her career she released 29 studio albums, 26 compilation albums, 4 video albums, and over 72 singles. In 1986 she was inducted in the Atlanta Music Hall of Fame and in 1997 was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. She is also a member of the Hit Parade Hall of Fame and the Rockabilly Hall of Fame.
