Brett Favre is an American former professional football player born in Gulfport, Mississippi on October 10, 1969. He is a 20 year veteran of the NFL and spent most of his career with the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League. He was the first quarterback in the NFL to pass for 500 touchdowns, throw for 70,000 yards, complete 6,000 passes, and attempt 10,000 passes. In 1991 he was selected by the Atlanta Falcon in the second round of the 1991 NFL Draft, 33rd overall. In 1992 he was traded to the Green Bay Packers and played with the team for 16 years, until 2007. While with the team he became a Super Bowl champion after the Packers defeated the New England Patriots 35-21 in Super Bowl XXXI. In 2007 he was traded to the New York Jets for the 2008 season. In 2009 he signed with the Minnesota Vikings and played with the team until he retired on January 17, 2011. Throughout his career he participated in 11 Pro Bowls and set a number of team and NFL records. His NFL records include most pass attempts with 10,169, most pass interceptions with 336, and most starts with 298. In 2015 he was inducted into the Green Bay Packers team Hall of Fame and in 2016 he was elected into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
