Coming from Bridgend, Wales, United Kingdom, Bullet for My Valentine was formed in 2003. The band’s musical influence came from the ‘80s metal band genre and the likes of Funeral for a Friend and LostProphets. Bullet for my Valentine was composed of Matthew Tuck, Michael Padget, Jason James, and Michael Thomas – all of whom are childhood friends.
The band was signed under Visible Noise label in London. They released the self-titled EP in United Kingdom which was then followed by their debut album “The Poison.” In 2004, Bullet for my Valentine won the Kerrang!”s Best British Newcomer Award.
