Candace Parker is an American professional basketball player born April 19, 1986, in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. When she was just 2, her family moved to Naperville, Illinois where she later attended Naperville Central High School. As a 15-year-old sophomore, Candace led her team to back-to-back state championships in 2003 and 2004 and she was also chosen as the Naismith and Gatorade Prep Player of the Year. She even won the slam dunk contest at the 2004 McDonald’s All American Game which is an amazing achievement for women's basketball. Candace was a member of the USA women’s U18 team which won the gold medal at the FIBA Americas Championship. In September 2006, she was selected to the USA women’s Senior National team. Her professional career was crowned with many medals which started in the Olympics in 2008 and also in the Olympics in 2012. She won her first and only WNBA championship in 2016 as a player of Los Angeles Sparks and she was named WNBA Finals MVP as she averaged 19.3 points and 8.7 rebounds per game. She was also named as two-time regular-season WNBA MVP in 2008 and 2013.
