Chris Hillman is a rock star with a legendary career spanning six decades. He is probably best known for being an original member of the band The Byrds, but he is also part of the Gram Parsons collective and has been a member of the bands The Flying Burrito Brothers, Desert Rose Band, and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, along with solo projects and collaborations.
As a Byrd, Chris Hillman was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1991. He has shared a studio or stage with the likes of Bob Dylan, The Bellamy Brothers, Herb Pedersen, Dan Fogelberg, and more than one member of Buffalo Springfield. Hillman was one of the pioneers of country-folk fusion rock, which was different from what modern audiences call “country” music.
