Christine McVie Bio

Christine McVie is an English rock musician best known as a member of the band Fleetwood Mac. She grew up taking piano lessons and was classically trained until getting into art college to study sculpture, while playing bass for the band Sound of Blue, then playing piano for the band Chicken Shack. By 1969, she’d met Fleetwood Mac bassist John McVie, and married him.

As legend now has it, Christine McVie joined Fleetwood Mac as the new keyboardist. She became a defining presence in the group, through its Lindsey Buckingham/Stevie Nicks incarnation. McVie won the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors’ Gold Badge of Merit in 2006, and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998. McVie has long ago left Fleetwood Mac and left no hope for reunion, but continues with other solo projects.
