Corey Hawkins is an actor born on 22nd October 1988 in Washington, D.C, United States. He is best known for appearing in the television series “The Walking Dead” from 2015 to 2016. He started his career in 2011, playing the role of Busboy in an episode of the television series “Royal Pains”. That same year, he appeared in the short film “Digital Antiquities”. In 2015, he portrayed Andre “Dr. Dre” Young in the biographical drama film “Straight Outta Compton”, for which he won the Breakout Ensemble Award.
Hawkins also starred in the music period drama film “The Color Purple”, for which he won the African-American Film Critics Association Award in the category of Best Ensemble. In 2017, he played the main role of Eric Carter in the television series “24: Legacy” alongside Anna Dip and Miranda Otto. In 2020, he appeared in the series “Survive”.
