Crystal Lake is a Japanese metalcore band formed in Tokyo in 2002. It consists of core members Ryo Kinoshita (vocals), Yudai Miyamoto (lead guitar), and Shinya Hori (rhythm guitar). The band put out various independent releases, including split records and EP’s, before making its debut in 2006 with the full-length “Dimension” through Imperium Records. Two years later, the band issued a split record with the Austrian band Cleave for HGR Records, and headline shows in Japan in support of bands like Shai Hulud and Parkway. The combo slowly built a reputation, and in 2011 they released their second long-player “The Great Beyond.” It wasn’t long before the EP “Cubes” was out, and the band managed to land a deal with Artery Records and a distribution deal with JPU Records. Crystal Lake released two more albums in 2016 and 2017, moving to Sharptone Records in 2018 with “Helix.”
