Born in 1992 in the Republic of Zaire, Damso (William Kalubi) is a rapper/singer-songwriter with Belgian and Congolese roots. At only 14 years old, Damso began his musical career. After begin signed to Universal Music, his first studio record, “Batterie faible,” was released in 2016. Singles from this album included “BruxellesVie,” “Amnésie,” and “Paris c’est loin,” – the latter of which featured rap artist Booba. His sophomore 2017 album “Ipséité” contained the singles “Nwaar Is the New Black” and “Tueurs.” Ipséité topped the charts across France. Both albums went multi-platinum in France. His 2019 album “Lithopédion” has also gone double platinum and won him the Best Album of the Year award at Victoires de la Musique.
