Dave Barnes Bio

Dave Barnes is a singer and songwriter born on 20th June 1978 in South Carolina, United States. He is known for performing contemporary Christian music. He developed an interest in writing songs at an early age but was a reluctant performer. After graduation from Middle Tennessee State University, he embraced the live circuit, quickly building a large fan base with his passionate and witty stage presence. He released a new EP titled “Three, Then Four” in 2002.

He has since been releasing music consistently, and his discography includes the hit songs God Gave Me You, Nothing Like You, Good Day for Marrying You, Dreaming in Electric Blue, the albums Brother, Bring the Sun, Stories To Tell, and Who Knew It Would Be So Hard To Be Myself. Dave has featured on Dara Maclean’s single Bethlehem Skies, B. Reith’s single Not Who I Am, and Francesca Battistelli's single Emily (It’s Love).  He has received a Dove Award for Southern Gospel Recorded Song of the Year, a Grammy nomination for Best Country Song, and a CMA Awards nomination for Song of the Year.
