David Oyelowo is a British actor, and producer born on the 1st of April, 1976 in Oxford, Oxfordshire, England as David Oyetokunbo Oyelowo. He studied acting at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA). He started his career on stage with the Royal Shakespeare Company, in plays such as “Volpone” and “Oroonoko”. In 2001, he got a small role in the comedy movie “Dog Eat Dog”, and he continued landing roles in several movies such as “As You Like It” in 2006, “A Raisin in the Sun” in 2008, and “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” in 2011. In 2014, he portrayed Martin Luther King Jr. in the biographical drama film “Selma”. Then, he took the lead role in “A United Kingdom” and he played in “Queen of Katwe”. On television, he portrayed officer Danny Hunter on the British series “Spooks” from 2002 to 2004 and Javert in the BBC series “Les Misérables” in 2018.
