Derek Hough Bio
Derek Hough is an American dancer, choreographer, actor and singer. He was born on the 17th of May, 1985, in Salt Lake City, Utah, U.S. Hough received an early training as a dancer, he started competing very young, and in 2002 he won the WDSF World Latin Championship, and the 2003 Blackpool U-21 Latin championship of Latin Dance, with his dance partner Aneta Piotrowska. Over his career he received remarkable dance awards from the LA Outstanding Dancer of the Year and the New York Dance Alliance. In 2013, Hough went on to win the Emmy Award for Outstanding Choreography. In 2015, Hough won his next Emmy Award for Outstanding Choreography, alongside Julianne Hough and Tessandra Chavez. Including the two nominations that he went on to win, Hough has been nominated for eight Emmy Awards for choreography. He was casted in “Dancing With the Stars” in season four as a guest instructor alongside Julianne and Apolo Anton Ohno. He performed on the show during the following 19 seasons. He also acted in the movie “Footloose” starring Kevin Bacon.
