David John LeMahieu, better known as DJ LeMahieu, is a professional baseball player born on July 13, 1988, in Visalia, California. He attended Brother Rice High School, where he played baseball. He was drafted in the 2007 MLB June Amateur Draft by the Detroit Tigers but did not sign, instead choosing to attend Louisiana State University. During his time playing with the LSU Tigers, LeMahieu was chosen for the 2008 NCAA Regional All-Tournament Team, the 2009 First-Team All-Louisiana, and the 2009 College World Series All-Tournament Team. In 2009, LeMahieu was selected by the Chicago Cubs in the 2009 MLB June Amateur Draft. IN 2011, he was traded to the Colorado Rockies and played with the team until 2018. During this period, he won multiple awards including three Gold Gloves and three Wilson Defensive Player of the Year Awards. LeMahieu signed with the New York Yankees in 2019 as a free agent. In his first year with the Yankees, LeMahieu received the Silver Slugger award and was selected for the All-MLB Team for the first time.
