Domantas Sabonis was born on May 3, 1996 in Portland, Oregon. He is a Lithuanian American professional basketball player. His father is the Lithuanian basketball player Arvydas Sabonis, who also plays for the Portland Trail Blazers. Domas plays the power forward / center for the Indiana Pacers of the National Basketball Association (NBA).
Domas played College basketball for two seasons at Gonzaga from 2014 to 2016. He was selected in the first round (11th overall pick) in the 2016 NBA draft by the Orlando Magic. He played for Unicaja Málaga, Clínicas Rincón, Oklahoma City and Indiana Thunder. He won the AP Honorable Mention All-American (2016), Second-team Academic All-American (2016), First-team All-WCC (2016), Second-team All-WCC (2015), and WCC All-Freshman Team (2015). Domas won a silver medal at the Men’s basketball representing Lithuania at EuroBasket 2015 competition and a gold medal at the European Youth Olympic Festival in 2011.
