Ednita Nazario is a prolific Puerto Rican singer and songwriter who was born on April 11th 1955 in Ponce, Puerto Rico. She was born and raised in Ponce, starting her career at the very tender age of seven. Ednita’s debut single was Mi Amor Lollipop. She rose to national fame at fourteen years old as the host of the popular primetime variety show. Her debut record Al Fin…Ednita! won her the Best New Artist and Best Album of the Year. Her other well-known album was Pasiones which produced eleven number one hits. Ednita also sang the very popular Cadenas de Fuego. She also appeared in Paul Simon’s The Capeman, a Broadway musical.
