Edouard Mendy, whose real full birth name is Édouard Osoque Mendy, is a French professional goalkeeper football player who was born on March 1, 1992, in Montivilliers, France. He began his professional career in 2011 when he signed with Cherbourg, a team in the third division. After that, he signed with Marseille in 2014 where he played as a reserve. He then signed with Reims in 2016, where he became a regular.
In 2020 he signed with English Premier League team Chelsea. He became a regular during his first season and he managed to equal the record for the cleanest sheets in the UEFA Champions League. With Chelsea, he won the 2020 Champions League Final against Manchester City and was chosen as the UEFA Goalkeeper of the Year in 2021. He also has an international career playing for the Senegal national team.
