Victor Cruz Bio

Victor Cruz is a former American football player. He was born Victor Michael Cruz on the 11th of November, 1986, in Paterson, New Jersey, U.S. He played in college for the University of Massachusetts, in the UMass Minutemen football team finishing with 131 catches, which ranked him fourth on the all-time UMass reception list. He was also named a first-team All-Colonial Athletic Association wide receiver during his college career. Cruz was not drafted in the 2010 NFL Draft but he was signed a day after by the New York Giants. In the 2010 season Cruz played three games before being placed on injured reserve for the remainder of the year. In the 2011 season Cruz had several highlights like his explosive 99-yards touchdown catch while playing against the New York Jets. In 2014 he suffered an injury which prematurely ended his season. After two years of rehab, he returned to the NFL in 2016 in a winning match against the Dallas Cowboys. In 2017 he signed with the Chicago Bears and in 2018 Cruz announced his retirement from the NFL to join ESPN as a football analyst.
