Electric Wizard Bio
Electric Wizard is a three-piece doom metal band from Dorset, England. The current members are Jus Osborn, Liz Buckingham, and Clayton Burgess, though the band has undergone many lineup changes since its start in 1993. Founder Jus Osborne is the only remaining original member. Electric Wizard has released eight full-length albums over their career, starting with their self-titled debut in 1995. 1997’s Come My Fanatics… and 2000’s Dopethrone are today considered among the critical albums of the doom metal genre. Their latest release, 2014’s Time to Die, hit number 17 on the Finnish Music charts. Electric Wizard’s lyrical style incorporates elements of witchcraft, occultism, cannabis, and horror. Electric Wizard has worked with, and released split albums with, many other doom metal bands like Our Haunted Kingdom (now known as Orange Goblin) and Reverend Bizarre. The band’s name comes from a splice of two Black Sabbath songs, “Electric Funeral” and “The Wizard”.
