Elle King, born Tanner Elle Schneider (July 3, 1989) is an American country and blues singer-songwriter, actress and TV personality. Elle is also known as the daughter of actor and comedian Rob Schneider and model London King. In 2005 at the age of 16, King began to perform around New York City and was then discovered by RCA Chairman Peter Edge, signing her to RCA Records. She released her debut EP titled ‘The Elle King EP’ in 2012. In the same year, Esquire Magazine listed King as “Artist to Watch in 2012”, played at the South by Southwest Festival and opened for Ed Sheeran, James Bay and Dashboard Confessional along with touring with Of Monsters of Men and Train. In 2014, King released a single ‘Ex’s and Oh’s’ off her debut album, ‘Love Stuff’ which was released in 2015. ‘Ex’s and Oh’s’ reached Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was nominated for two Grammy Awards for Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song. In 2017, she released a single with Dierks Bentley titled ‘Different for Girls’ which they both won an award for Musical Event of the Year at the 50th CMA Awards and was also Grammy nominated for Best Country Duo/Group Performance. King released her second album, ‘Shake The Spirit’ in 2018 with her band, the Brethren. Signed with Red Light Management, Elle King’s ‘Shake The Spirit’ is “an album that transcends its influences, with emotionally cathartic songs that manage to be both witty and vulnerable” as stated by Red Light’s website.
