Fiona Shaw Bio

Fiona Shaw was born on July 10, 1958 in Munster, Ireland. She attended the University College in Cork and arose from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London in 1982. She made her debut in Love’s Labour’s Lost soon after before going on to play in theater roles, such as Celia in As You Like It (1984) and Young Woman in Machinal (1993), in which she won the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actress. She even played a male role in Richard II (1995).

She went on to play in film in television in My Left Foot (1989), Mountains of the Moon (1990), Super Mario Bros. (1993), and The Avengers (1998). She is most recently known for playing in five Harry Potter films, where she played Harry’s aunt Petunia Dursley, and for appearing in the fourth season of True Blood. In 2013, she won the 2013 United Solo Special Award for her performance in The Testament of Mary.
