Flavor Flav Bio

Flavor Flav, born William Jonathan Drayton Jr., is a rapper and actor from Long Island, New York, who emerged as a prominent member of legendary hip hop collective Public Enemy. Famously donning a full-sized clock onstage, he served as the hype man of the group, occasionally taking lead vocals to serve as a comedic counterpoint to the passionate political verses of frontman Chuck D. He was signed to Def Jam in the ‘80s by Rick Rubin, and released his first solo album, Hollywood, in 2006. Though the album received mixed reviews from critics, he kept busy with a series of reality shows and other acting endeavors that maintain his status as one of hip hop’s most famous hype man and iconic figures.
