Frances Tiafoe Bio
American tennis player, Frances Tiafoe, was born in Hyattsville, Maryland, USA on January 20, 1998. Prior to going pro, Frances was ranked No. 2 overall in the world's junior rankings of the International Tennis Federation.
He eventually went pro in 2015 at 16 and rose through the ranks to become one of the top 100 players in the world by October 2016 after his 2016 ATP Challenger win over Noah Rubin. After defeating Juan Martín del Potro, he earned his first ATP Tour title in 2018 and won the Delray Beach Open to become the second youngest American to win it - after Andy Roddick.
Frances earned his first career win over a top-five player when he defeated Tsitsipas in February 2019. He also defeated No. 5, Kevin Anderson, and No. 20, Grigor Dimitrov, in the 2019 Australian Open.
In 2020, Frances made it to the Round of 16 of the 2020 U.S. Open and has participated in 21 Grand Slam tournaments since his first appearance at the 2015 French Open.
