Frank Langella Bio

Frank Langella is an American stage and film actor born in Bayonne, New Jersey on January 1, 1938. He is best known for his roles in the films Dracula, Masters of the Universe, Diary of a Mad Housewife, Dave, Frost/Nixon, and Good Night, and Good Luck. Langella started his acting career appearing in stage productions off-Broadway like The Immoralist, The Old Glory, Good Day, and The White Devil. In 1966 he made his debut on Broadway in the production of Yerma. He has since had roles on and off Broadway in productions of Dracula, Passion, Amadeus, The Tempest, Booth, The Father, Present Laughter, A Christmas Carol, After the Fall, Design for Living and more. In 1965 he made his debut on television in the show The Trials of O’Brien and continued landing roles in the shows Mannix, Love Story, Swiss Family Robinson, Jason and the Argonauts, Unscripted, Kitchen Confidential, The Americans, Kidding and others. Langella made his debut in film in 1970 in the movie Diary of a Mad Housewife and has also had roles in the films The Twelve Chairs, Dracula, Sphinx, The Men’s Club, True Identity, Junior, Eddie, Lolita, Back in the Day and more. Throughout his career he has been nominated for a number of awards and has won four Tony Awards, two Obie Awards, and a Drama Desk Award.
