From Indian Lakes is an American indie-alternative rock band from Indian Lakes Estates, Coarsegold, California. Founder singer-songwriter Joey Vannucchi began From Indian Lakes in 2009 as his project and later recruited a group of musicians to be his backing band. From Indian Lake’s first record was released in 2009 titled ‘The Man With Wooden Legs’ followed by a second release titled ‘Acoustic EP’. In 2012, the band released their second independent album, ‘Able Bodies’ which led to their signing with Triple Crown Records. Through Triple Crown, they released their third album, ‘Absent Sounds’ in 2014 which debuted at number 8 on the Top Heatseekers Chart, along with number 36 on the Independent Albums Chart. From Indian Lakes’ following album, ‘Everything Feels Better Now’ also entered the charts, debuting at number 5 on the Top Heatseekers Chart. The album received high praise from Spin, NPR, Rollingstone and Stereogum among others. The dream-pop and indie rock ‘Everything Feels Better Now’ was given a 7/10 from Pitchfork stating that the album is “mood music for the hopeless romantic… using compositional tools of twinkly, technical emo”. Shortly after, the band release ‘Efbn Tapes’ featuring alternate versions and initial creations of hits from ‘Everything Feels Better Now’. From Indian Lakes’ most recent album, ‘Dimly Lit’, was released in 2019. The band’s most popular single to date, ‘The Bells’ from their ‘Acoustic EP’ currently has 8 million plays on Spotify along with ‘I Am Alive’ from their ‘Absent Sounds’ album, receiving 4 million plays.
