Swedish ice hockey player is the left winger and captain of the Colorado Avalanche. He was born on 23rd November 1992 in Stockholm, Sweden. His career began with Hammarby IF. He became the youngest player to have played in Elitserien which was also his debut match. He was drafted by the Plymouth Whalers of the Ontario Hockey League in 2009. Later that year, he was traded to the Kitchener Rangers. In 2010, he became the captain of the Kitchener Rangers, making him the first European captain in the history of the franchise. In the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, he was drafted second overall by the Colorado Avalanche. His first NHL goal was against the Colombus Blue Jackets in October 2011. In March 2012 he was named the NHL Rookie of the Month for seven goals and six assists in one month. In the 2011-2012 season, he was the only Av to play in 82 regular season games. He won the Calder Memorial Trophy in 2012 for Rookie of the year.
