Garbiñe Muguruza Bio

Spanish-Venezuelan tennis player, Garbiñe Muguruza was born on 8th October 1993 in Caracas, Venezuela. She began to play tennis at six at the Bruguera Tennis Academy. She is best known for her aggressive gameplay and strong groundstroke. She started her professional career in 2012 but became prominent at the 2014 Australian Open when she beat the then World No.1 player, Caroline Wozniacki. In the 2014 French Open, she beat World No.1 Serena Williams and established her place in the world of tennis. She won her maiden premier-level crown at the 2015 China Open. She won five WTA tiles and two majors at the French Open and Wimbledon. Her highest career ranking was World No.1 for singles and World No.10 for doubles in 2017.
