Gavie Chahal, born Navdeepak Singh Chahal on November 11, 1978 in Mansa, Punjab, India, is a well-known Indian actor in the Hindi and Punjabi film industry. In 2000, he won the title of Mr. Punjab. He also won the 20th National Award for his performance in the Bollywood film ”Ek Tha Tiger” (2012) by Journalist Association of India.
Gavie started his acting career by appearing in the Punjabi music video “Jattan De Putt Sadh Ho Gaye”. In 2015, he made his movie debut in the Punjabi film titled Yaaran Naal Baharan. Following the project, he appeared in other popular Hindi television shows including Mohe Rang De and Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. He has also acted in several movies, including Tere Ishq Nachaya (2010), Pinky Moge Wali (2012), Ek Tha Tiger (2012), Chalk N Duster (2016), and Haunted Hills (2020).
He gained immense recognition for his portrayal of Abrar, a section captain of the ISI, in the 2012 blockbuster film Ek Tha Tiger, produced by Yash Raj Films and starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. He reprised the role in the 2017 hit film Tiger Zinda Hai.
In addition to his acting achievements, Gavie also won the adventure-based reality TV show Fear Factor Season 1 that was aired on Sony TV. His Hindi feature film Yeh Hai India, directed by Lom Harsh, was screened at the FOG Film Festival in the USA and won the Best Film award. The film was also showcased at the Cannes Film Festival.
