George C. Wolfe was born in Frankfort, Kentucky on September 23, 1954. He won the Best Director for Television from the 2016 Black Reel Awards for Lackawanna Blues. The project also won the Christopher Award for Television & Cable. Nominations for Lackawanna Blues include a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Directing.
Wolfe also wrote an episode for Trying Times in 1989 and Great Performances in 1991. He directed and wrote the screenplay for The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, a 2017 TV movie. The said project won the Outstanding Writing from Blackreel Awards for Television. It also received Outstanding Directorial Achievement nomination in Movies for Television and Miniseries for Directors Guild of America.
He also served as the director for Nights in Rodanthe (2008) and You’re Not You (2014).
