Gerard Moreno Bio

Gerard Moreno Balagueró (born April 7, 1992 in Santa Perpètua de Mogoda, Barcelona, Catalonia) is a Spanish professional footballer, best known for playing as a striker for La Liga club Villarreal and the Spanish national team. He won the 2021 Europa League and two Zarra Trophies.

On August 13, 2015, Moreno signed a five-year deal with fellow league side Espanyol. On June 12, 2018, he returned to Villarreal, agreeing to a five-year contract. He finished the 2019–20 season with 18 league goals, thus winning the Zarra Trophy.

In 2021, he was voted the Europa League's Player of the Season, ahead of Manchester United duo Bruno Fernandes and Edinson Cavani. On August 10, 2021, Moreno signed a new six-year deal with Villarreal. Unfortunately, he featured much less in the 2021–22 and 2022–23 campaigns, due to injury problems. On the International scene, Moreno made his senior debut on October 15, 2019, in the UEFA Euro 2020 qualifiers.
